INCONTINENCE
Are you noticing some leakage with coughing, sneezing or laughing? Are you leaking on your way to the bathroom? Are you needing extra protection when you’re playing with your kids or exercising?
There are a couple kinds of incontinence: Stress and/or Urge. One means you have leaking during activity or coughing/sneezing/etc. The other means you have strong urges to use the bathroom and you start to leak when you feel that strong urge.
Even if it’s only a dribble or a few drops, you don’t have to live with urinary leakage. If you are planning your day around going to the restroom, break free from that constraint.
Causes of incontinence:
Pelvic floor tightness
Irritation of pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissue
Weakness of pelvic floor
Poor coordination between movement and pelvic floor engagement
Poor pressure management in the trunk
Pelvic floor physical therapy can determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and help you feel more comfortable with the activities you enjoy!
